We wanted to share a link with you to a free wire wrapping tutorial for a wire wrapped cabochon. Cabochons are popular shapes for wire wrapping. Once you master the basic technique, you can use it to wrap cabs of different sizes. The tutorial is from Tumble Weed Glass. Enjoy! The picture is owned by Tumble Weed Glass and has been included here for editorial purposes.

Attaching dangles isn’t just for earrings or simple projects. This fox is elegant and the artist has incorporated the technique in a way that complements the main piece with accents.

You can make jewelry quickly and easily by learning a simple technique ~ wrapping a head pin. You use a head pin to make dangles that you can attach to ear wires, necklaces, bracelets…the applications are numerous. You can see a tutorial about how to do this at the Bead Shop website. The tutorial is: Use Headpins to Create Dangles

You can vary the look by using headpins of different colors or using jeweled ended headpins. They also have flat ended headpins, or you can make your own by hammering the end of your wire out.

Headpins can be purchased from Wire Sculpture, they have been an invaluable source of supplies and information since we began creating jewelry in 2004.

This steam punk spider is a culmination of wire coiling, wrapping, sculpting and some great imagination on the part of wire artist Daniel Proulx. All of his work is incredible; this is absolutely mind blowing though!

Found a free tutorial at Studio Heath for a cage pendant  that I wanted to share with everyone. I actually used this tutorial to make a precious set of earrings. It really is easy and quick to whip up and it still has an elegant look to it.

These earrings prove my point that your wire work doesn’t have to be elaborate to be beautiful. A georgeous stone hung on wire from an earwire can be simple and very attractive.

Found these great pics from zeafonso at sxc.hu – several wire techniques are used, I would say they are intermediate skill level, but they give a very nice look mixed with the stones.
